Malick Sidibé is a Malian photographer best known for his black and white images of 60’s pop culture in Barnako, Mali. How are these photos different from other photos you have seen of African culture? We often see images of Africa’s rural communities rather than of it’s metropolitan areas, so it’s easy to have missed that Mali in the 60’s/70’s was a hotbed for awesome outfits and personal swagger. Thank goodness for Studio Malick!
